Diagnostic Procedures
- Check for binding, sticking or broken reset switch. If reset switch is okay, clear DTC. Turn ignition off. Disconnect reset switch. Turn ignition on. Wait 60 seconds. Check for DTC B1520. If DTC B1520 is present, go to next step. If DTC B1520 is not present, go to step 3).
- Check Black wire between Driver Information Center (DIC) terminal "E" and IPC connector terminal B10 for short to ground. See Fig 1
and Fig 2
. If short exists, locate and repair as necessary. If Black wire is okay, go to next step.
- Using a DVOM, measure resistance between terminals "E" and "H" of DIC. See Fig 1
. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, check for an intermittent problem by performing a "wiggle test" for any poor connections. Repair as necessary.
- Replace reset switch. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK
