Securing the rear shock absorber on the body

- Check centering plate (1) for damage and, if necessary, replace it.
- Check the position of centering plate (1) and, if necessary, correct it.WARNING: Car may slip off the vehicle hoist where components are supported.
Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!- Secure the vehicle hoist against lowering and lifting.
- Make sure that the vehicle does not lift off the mounting plates on the vehicle lift.
- Insert special tool 2 219 012
into special tool 2 358 630
.
- Lift the wheel carrier slightly using special tool 2 219 012
. Position the shock absorber on the body in the process.
Do not press against the spring force of the coil spring.
- Replace screws (1).

- Tighten down screws (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Nut and locknut/self-locking nut M8x40
Replace screws.tightening torque 28 Nm - Disconnect the special tool 2 219 012 and set it aside.
- Release lug bolts (1).
- Remove special tool 2 358 630
.NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the specified component(s) is/are installed.
- Attach all the cables to holder (2).
- Connect connectors (1) and lock.
- Check centering plate (1) for damage and, if necessary, replace it.
- Check the position of centering plate (1) and, if necessary, correct it.WARNING: Car may slip off the vehicle hoist where components are supported.

with special tools 2 411 683
and 2 305 379
under wheel carrier (1).
- Lift the wheel carrier slightly using special tool 2 219 012
. Position the shock absorber on the body in the process.
Do not press against the spring force of the coil spring.
- Replace screws (1).

Nut and locknut/self-locking nut M8x40
Replace screws.tightening torque 28 Nm NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the specified component(s) is/are installed. - Attach all the cables to holder (2).
- Connect connectors (1) and lock.
