Lifting the rear axle differential

Component damage.

All specifications must be observed and complied with.

Using the special tool 0 496 009 (33 5 200) , lift up the rear axle differential (1) and position it on the rear axle support.
Correct the installation position while lifting by turning the adjustment screw (2).
Slide the screw (1) forward in the arrow direction.

Replace nut (1).
Parts: Nut
Feed through the nut (1).

Replace screws (1).

Pilot the screws (1) by hand and tighten.

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Rear differential to rear axle carrier, front
M12 Replace screw.	tightening torque	100 Nm

Tighten down screw (1). In doing so, counter support at the nut.

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Rear differential to rear axle carrier, rear
M14 Replace nut.	Tightening torque.	175 Nm

Release the special tool 0 496 080 (33 5 206) from the rear axle differential (1) and remove it.
Lower the special tools 0 490 133 (00 2 030) and 0 496 009 (33 5 200) and set them aside.

NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the specified component(s) is/are installed.

Position the vibration absorber (1).

The arrow on the vibration absorber (1) points vertically upwards.

Replace the screw (2).
Parts: Screw

Tighten the screw (2) on the vibration absorber (1) with the standard tool.
