Closing locking ring (vehicle without stationary heating system)

- When working on the fuel system, make sure the workstation has sufficient ventilation, e.g., by means of extraction.
- Tightly seal off open lines and connections; collect any leakage fuel directly at the point of exit.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

All the new delivery units are delivered in equipment specification with parked-car heating.
For these vehicles, the connection on the flange lid must be closed with a lock.
The lock must be ordered separately, refer to applicable BMW parts catalogue.

- Place special tool 2 452 189 or 2 445 958 (1) on the locking ring (2).
- Connect the special tool 0 495 554 (33 5 070) with a reversible 1/2 inch (3) ratchet head and place on the special tool 2 452 189 2 445 958.
- Tighten locking ring (2) in clockwise direction.
- Make sure that the locking ring to the fuel tank is engaged correctly.
- Connect snap fastener (1) and lock.
- Connect the connector.
- Lock retaining tab (1) in the arrow direction.NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the specified component(s) is/are installed.
- Connect connectors (1) and lock.
- Replace the sealing cap of the floor panel.

There is a risk of leaks if the sealing cap of the floor panel is reused.
- Coat the seal in the area (1) with lubricant (refer to applicable BMW parts catalogue).INSTALLATION AID SPECIFICATION
Lubricants G14 900 ml, Can 83232360412 - Install sealing cap (1) and close it in the arrow direction.
Mark (2) must point forwards in the driving direction.
- Cover the insulation in the area (1).
