Mount the exhaust system in a de-energized state, following the tightening sequence from the rear silencer towards the exhaust manifold.

Preliminary work

- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.

- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.

Shavings resulting from sawing or grinding components.

- Conduct all work in appropriate personal protective equipment only.
- Wear safety goggles and hand protection.
- If the separation point is not marked by a punch mark in the pipe, then determine the separation point by means of the length of the pipe on the new gasoline particulate filter.
- Mark the separation point on the component being replaced.
- Secure the catalytic converters with the center silencer (2) and the rear silencer (1) against falling.
- Cut through the exhaust pipes at the marked points with a suitable tool.
- Release nuts (1).
- Release nuts (1).
- Version A:
Loosen screw (1).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Version B:
Loosen screw (1).
- Release nut (1).
- Feed out the catalytic converters with the center silencer (1) and remove them.
