Replacing Left Front Door

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVING THE BOTTOM COVER OF THE FRONT DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVE THE MIRROR TRIANGLE COVER .
• Refer to REMOVING THE EXTERIOR MIRROR .
• Refer to REMOVE THE COVER ON THE DOOR HANDLE .
• Refer to REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .
• Refer to REMOVE FRONT INNER WINDOW CHANNEL STRIP .
• Refer to REMOVING THE COVER ON THE WINDOW FRAME .
• Refer to REMOVE THE WINDOW CHANNEL STRIP ON THE FRONT DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVE THE WINDOW FRAME TRIM FROM THE FRONT DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVE THE FRAME TRIM ON THE WINDOW FRAME OF THE FRONT DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVE THE MODULE BRACKET FROM THE FRONT DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVE THE FRONT DOOR WINDOW GLASS (MODULE BRACKET REMOVED) .
• Refer to REMOVING RUBBER WINDOW SEAL FOR THE FRONT DOOR WINDOW GLASS .
• Refer to REMOVE THE FRONT OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE .
• Refer to REMOVING DOOR LOCK AND OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE SUPPORT OF DRIVER'S DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVE DOOR STOP .

Precondition 

New part is painted.

• Pull up lock (1) and disconnect plug connection (2).

• Unclip wiring harness (1) at the marked positions.
• Loosen grommet (2).
• Guide out wiring harness (1) out of the front door.

  NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE 
  Mechanical effects. 
  Paint damage. 

  • Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
  • Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.
• Secure the front door to prevent it from falling.
• Loosen screws (1) and remove front door.

• Renew the left front door.

  Parts:  Door

• Secure the front door to prevent it from falling.
• Position the door on the door hinges.

  Tighten down screws (1).

  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  Front door to door hinge
  screw	Tightening torque	19 Nm

• Carefully close the front door and check for bodywork contact and, if necessary, reposition the door.
• Insert the wiring harness (1) in the front door.
• Mount grommet (2) and check if it fits correctly.
• Clip in wiring harness (1) at the marked positions.

• Connect connector (1) and press down lock (2).

• Remount the adapter clamp (1).
