Detaching rear axle

- Secure the vehicle hoist against lowering and lifting.
- Make sure that the vehicle does not lift off the mounting plates on the vehicle lift.

- Ensure there is a specific weight compensation on the car.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE REAR LEFT AND RIGHT WHEELS .
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER OF THE CAMBER CONTROL ARM ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE REAR DIFFUSER .
- Removing the undershield on the left fuel tank.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Loosen screws (2).
- Remove the undershield (1) at the fuel tank on the left.
- Refer to REMOVING UNDERSHIELD ON THE FUEL TANK ON THE RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING REINFORCEMENT STRUT .
- Removing rear tunnel connecting support.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Loosen screws (2).
- Removing rear tunnel connecting support(3).
- Refer to REMOVING EXHAUST SYSTEM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE HEAT SHIELD AT THE REAR .
- Refer to RELEASING THE PROP SHAFT FROM THE REAR AXLE DIFFERENTIAL .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE PLUG CONNECTION TO THE REAR RIDE HEIGHT SENSOR .
- Refer to DETACHING CABLES ON RIGHT AND LEFT .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE PLUG CONNECTIONS ON THE LEFT AND THE RIGHT .

Remove thrust arm

Damage to components on the rear axle.
Removing both thrust arms simultaneously may lead to serious damage to the rear axle.

- Only remove or replace thrust arms individually.
- When lowering or removing the rear axle: Support the rear axle support before both thrust arms are removed.
- Loosen screws (1) .
- Loosen screw (2) .
- Remove thrust arm (3) .
- Loosen screw (2) .
- Remove thrust washer (1) .
