Install the front power distribution box
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2023 BMW M5, 2022 BMW M5, 2021 BMW M5, 2020 BMW M5, and 2019 BMW M5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Connect connector (1) and close the lock (2).
- Connect connector (3) and close the lock (4).
- Connect connectors (1) and lock.
- Feed in the power distribution box (3) in a downwards direction.
- Tighten down screw (2).

- Tighten the screws (1).

- Fasten the cable clip (arrow).
- Feed in the accompanying cable and tighten the nut (1).

- Feed in the accompanying cable and tighten the nut (2).

- Feed in the cover (1) in a downwards direction.
- Check the detents (2) are seated correctly.
- Feed in the power distribution box sealing frame (3) in a downwards direction.
- Tighten the screws (1).

- Check that the detent (2) is fitted correctly.

- Refer to INSTALLING THE COVER OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ON THE REAR LEFT .
- Installing the rear right engine compartment cover.
Remove the battery cover .
NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.- Remove the special tool 2 452 007 from the battery.
- Install the cover (2).
- Lock the lock (1).
- Refer to CONNECTING BATTERY GROUND LEAD .
- Refer to ACTIVATING THE 48 V ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
