Installing transmission wiring harness

Feed in the transmission wiring harness.
Connect plug connection (1) and lock.

Position the connector (2).
Turn the connector with the bayonet closure (2) clockwise and lock.
Engage the detents of the transmission wiring harness (1).

Position the grounding point.
Tighten down screw (2).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Ground connection on transmission
M6x12 screw	Tightening torque	10 Nm

Engage the detents of the transmission wiring harness (1).

Engage the detents of the transmission wiring harness (1).

Replace the cable ties (1).
Parts: Cable tie
Tighten the cable tie (1) and cut off protruding end.
Connect plug connection (3) and lock.
Engage the detents of the transmission wiring harness (2).

Installing transmission cross member .

Install the transmission cross member (3).
Tighten down screw (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Transmission cross member to rubber mounts
M12	tightening torque	68 Nm

Tighten down screws (2).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Transmission cross member to body
M8	tightening torque	19 Nm

Release the luggage strap (1) from the transmission.
Remove the special tools 0 495 498 (23 4 050) and 2 219 012 .

Install the stiffening plate

Insert the thrust field (3) on the covers of the steering assembly (2) and position.
Replace the bolts (arrows).
Parts: Screws
Tighten screws (arrows).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Thrust field to front axle support
M8 Replace screws.	Joining torque	25 Nm
	Angle of rotation	70°

Tighten down screws (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Underbody protection
screw	Tightening torque	3 Nm

Install front underbody protection

Insert the front underbody protection (1).
Slide the front underbody protection (1) slightly backwards and insert it under the thrust field (2).
Tighten all bolts (arrows).

screw	Tightening torque	3 Nm

Feed in the transmission wiring harness (2).
Engage the transmission wiring harness (2) on the holders (1).

Lock the holder (1) of the transmission wiring harness downward.

WARNING: Working on fuel system .
Risk of fire! Danger of explosion!

When working on the fuel system, make sure the workstation has sufficient ventilation, e.g., by means of extraction.
Tightly seal off open lines and connections; collect any leakage fuel directly at the point of exit.
No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

Connect and lock tank vent line (2).
Engage the transmission wiring harness downward in area (1).
Engage the engine wiring harness on the holder (2).

- Position the cover of the master DME control unit (1)
- Engage the cover panel of the master DME control unit (1) downwards with the clamps (2) and the guide pins (3) in the carrier plate of the DME.
