51 33 000 Removing And Installing/Replacing Power Window Unit In Left Or Right Front Door (Convertible, Coupe)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

Adjust window lift fully towards bottom.

IMPORTANT: Disconnect plug connection (1) from power window motor (2) (risk of trapping).

Installation: 

Convertible from build date 09/2003:

Carry out normalization. Refer to 67 62 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING FLAT MOTOR FOR FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT POWER WINDOW UNIT .

Unhook cables (3) from clips (1 and 2).

Release clip (2).

Unscrew nuts (4).

Set down rear power window unit (5) at bottom in door.

Installation: 

Replace self-locking nuts.

Tightening torque, refer to 51 33 2AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 3-SERIES .

NOTE: The work for "Removing/replacing door lock (51 21 090)" ends here.

Release nuts (1).

Feed power window unit (2) with drive mechanism (3) completely out of door.

Installation: 

Replace self-locking nuts.

Tightening torque, refer to 51 33 2AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 3-SERIES .

Installation: 

Check rear support for door window glass:

Rubber ring (1) must not be brittle, replace if necessary.

Cover (2) must not be folded back.

If cover (2) is folded back, adjusting cam (3) is outside guide.

Installation: 

If necessary, open cover.

Lay adjusting cam (1) in guide (2) of support (3).

Fit cover.

Installation: 

Adjusting window lift:

Replacement: 

Release screws (1).

Turn power window motor (2) a little and remove.

Installation: 

Tightening torque, refer to 51 33 1AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 3-SERIES .
