Remove the headlining (equipment specification with sliding/tilting sunroof)

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVING BOTH A-PILLAR TRIM PANELS .
• Refer to REMOVING BOTH SUN VISORS AND COUNTER SUPPORTS .
• Refer to REMOVING LEFT AND RIGHT HANDS-FREE MICROPHONE .
• Refer to OPEN SLIDING/TILTING SUNROOF .
• Refer to REMOVING THE ROOF FUNCTION CENTER (FZD) .
• Refer to REMOVING FRONT CEILING LIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVING REAR INTERIOR ROOF LIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVING ALL GRAB HANDLES .
• Refer to REMOVING THE BODY PILLAR TRIM PANELS OF THE TWO BODY PILLARS ON THE REAR LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Refer to DETACHING THE EDGE PROTECTION .

• Turn the coat hook to one side.
• Press the clamps together (arrows) and remove the coat hook.

• Remove the cover (1).

• Loosen the bolts (1) and remove the cover (2).

• Open sliding/tilting sunroof.
• Loosen screws (1).

  NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE 
  Fold the headlining  .
  Damage to the headlining. If necessary, the headlining must be replaced  .

  • Carry out tasks with a second person to assist.
  • Support the headlining at the front and back.

• Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
• Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
• Unclip the headlining (3) from the clips (2).

• Adjust the backrest of the driver's and the front passenger seat all the way back.
• Detach the headlining (1) from the clips (2) downward in the marked areas.

• Pull the headlining (1) carefully to the back until the headlining (1) feeds out of the clip (2).
• Open all doors and all side windows.
• Remove the (1) headlining with the help of another person.
