Remove both A-pillar trim panels

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Remove A-pillar trim panel

WARNING: Airbag unit .
Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!

Before working on the airbag, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

Remove the cover (1) and unscrew the bolt below it.
Detach the A-pillar trim panel (2) inward from the clips (3) and the edge protection (4).
Thread the A-pillar trim panel (2) out of the dashboard toward the top.
