51 44 011 Remove and install/replace headlining (with sunroof, except panorama roof)
Preliminary work needed:
- Refer to REMOVING TRIM PANEL FOR ROOF PILLAR AT FRONT (A-pillar) left/right
- Refer to REMOVING SUN VISOR AND COUNTER SUPPORT left/right
- Refer to REMOVING MICROPHONE left/right
- Open sliding/tilting sunroof at front
- Refer to REMOVING ROOF SWITCH CLUSTER or REMOVING FRONT INTERIOR ROOF LIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING ALL GRAB HANDLES .
- Refer to REMOVING INTERIOR ROOF LIGHTS AT REAR .
- Refer to REMOVING TRIM PANEL FOR ROOF PILLAR AT REAR left/right
- Release edge protection on all doors in the headlining area
- Release trunk lid gasket halfway
Open coat hook halfway.
Press clamps together and feed coat hook out towards the inside.
Remove left and right trim (1).
Release left and right screws (1) and take off left and right trims (2).
Open sliding/tilting sunroof.
Unscrew the screws (1).
Release expanding rivet (1).
Release expanding rivet (1).
Unclip headlining (3) at clip (2).
Adjust backrest of driver's and front passenger seat all the way back.
Release headlining (1) from clips (2) in downward direction in the marked areas.
Installation note:
If necessary, replace faulty clips (2).
Carefully pull headlining (1) rearward until headlining (1) is fed out of clip (2).
Open all doors and side windows.
Feed out headlining (1) with an assistant.
Pull down headlining (1).
Installation note:
Installation sequence:
- Attach headlining to the clips at front and rear
- Screw down front headlining
- Mount grab handles
- Screw down sun visors and counter supports
- Secure edge protection to headlining
- Fix trunk lid gasket on headlining
- Add final details to vehicle
