Remove headlining
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE LEFT HAND SEAT .

Precondition
The front seats have been fully adjusted towards the bottom.
The front seat backrests have been fully adjusted towards the rear.
The rear seat backrest is folded toward the front.
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Fold the headlining .
Damage to the headlining. If necessary, the headlining must be replaced .
Fold the headlining .
Damage to the headlining. If necessary, the headlining must be replaced .
- Carry out tasks with a second person to assist.
- Support the headlining at the front and back.
- Release the screw (1) below the rear interior roof light.
- Lever the cover (1) out using the special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325)
from the headlining
.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Loosen the headlining at the clips (2).
- Unlock the plug connections (1) in the D-pillar (2) area at left and disconnect.
- Release screw (1) at the D-pillar on the lest and right and take off the seat belt guide loop (2).
- Buckling of the headlining must be avoided. Support the headlining at the front and back .
- Loosen the headlining (1) at the clips (2).
- Release the headlining (1) from the sliding/tilting sunroof case and the clamps (3) in the area of the dashed lines.
- Feed out the headlining (1) with two support persons downwards on the respective edge protection and place it on the seats.
- Remove the headlining (1) with two support persons from the vehicle as shown.
