Removing the instrument cluster

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

- Mask decorative strip (1) with yellow plastic adhesive tape (2) as shown.CONSUMABLE DESCRIPTION
Yellow plastic adhesive tape 83199410979 - Release the screws (1) on the instrument cluster (2).
- Unclip cover (1) from clamps (2).
- Feed out and remove the cover (1) in arrow direction.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Guide out holder (2) upwards and remove it.
- Release screw (1) for instrument cluster (2).NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- Fir the plastic adhesive tape (1) on to the decorative strip (2).CONSUMABLE DESCRIPTION

Conduct the following operation with the assistance of a second person. - Unlock the lock (1).
- Pull out instrument cluster (2) from clamp (3) in the arrow direction.
- Guide the instrument cluster (1) out a little.NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the instrument cluster (KOMBI) or the head unit
A ground offset can occur when releasing and connecting the cables. This can generate currents that render the instrument cluster (KOMBI) or the head unit unusable .- When releasing: First release the APIX data cable (blue).
- When connecting: Connect the APIX data cable (blue) last.
NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Conduct the following operation with the assistance of a second person. - Unclip the cable bracket at the marked points,
- Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect,
- Feed out and remove the instrument cluster (2).
