When replacing the rear door trim panel

NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING REAR DOOR TRIM .
- Make a cutout for the footwell light.
- Cut out the prepunched area (1) along the dotted line with a suitable tool.
Removing the rear power window switch
- Unlock locking pin (1) and pull out from the door trim panel (3).
- Unlock and disconnect connector (2).
- Remove the power window switch with the switch trim (4) from the door trim panel (3).
Removing the Bowden cable for the inner door opener
- Release the locking mechanism (1) and remove the Bowden cable (2) toward the top.
The Bowden cable will thread itself out.
Installing the speaker cover from the door trim panel
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
- Saw off all welding pins on the speaker cover (1) along the molding (2).
- Remove welding remnants on door trim panel with a scalpel.
- Install the speaker cover (1) and lock on the detents (2).
Welding pins must not protrude from the door trim panel.
- Screw in and tighten the repair screws (arrows).
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Install the decorative strip on the door trim panel
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
- Install the decorative strip (1) and clip it in at the clamps (2).
- Install the decorative strip (1).
- Screw in the repair screws (1) and tighten.

Installing inner rear door opener
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
- Saw off the welding pins (1) on the inner door opener along the molding (2).
Do not cut off the welding pin (3).
- Remove welding remnants on door trim panel with a scalpel.
- Install the inner door opener (1) and lock on the snap-in lugs (2).
NOTE:
Welding pins must not protrude from the door trim panel.
- Screw in and tighten the repair screws (arrows).
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- Fasten the welding pin (3) with the locking washer (4).
Installing the Bowden cable for the inside door opener
- Push the inner door handle in closed direction.
- Engage the Bowden cable (2) into the lock (1) towards the front/bottom.
The Bowden cable (2) must be correctly positioned in the provided holders.
Installing the rear power window switch
- Position the power window switch with switch trim (4) and install in the door trim panel (3).
- Install the locking pin (1) in the door trim panel (3) and lock.
- Connect connector (2).
- Remount the wiring harness on the new door trim panel.
