Installing the bottom catalytic converter of cylinders 1 to 4

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the gasoline particulate filter .
Forcibly removing, installing or dropping the gasoline particulate filter down will damage it .

Remove and install the gasoline particulate filter without damaging it and without applying external force.
Avoid impacts/knocks to the gasoline particulate filter (e.g. by tools, falling down, hard contact with base).

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
After exchanging the gasoline particulate filter, and before delivering the vehicle to the customer, the registration of the gasoline particulate filter must be carried out!

Replace gasket (1).
Parts: Seal
Position seal (1) on bottom catalytic converter near engine (2).
Guide in and position the bottom catalytic converter near engine (2).

Attach bottom catalytic converter near engine (1) to lug (2) and secure against falling down.

Replace nuts (1).
Parts: Nuts

Tighten nuts (1) on bottom catalytic converter near engine (2).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Gasoline particulate filter or catalytic converter near engine to the bottom of catalytic converter, snug torque
Nut M8	Tightening torque	17 Nm

Tighten screws (1) on bottom catalytic converter near engine (2).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Gasoline particulate filter or catalytic converter near engine to the bottom of the transmission, snug torque
M8x20 screw	Tightening torque	8 Nm

Tighten nuts (1) on bottom catalytic converter near engine (2).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Gasoline particulate filter or catalytic converter near engine to the bottom of the catalytic converter, tightening torque
Nut M8	Tightening torque	28 Nm

Tighten screws (1) on bottom catalytic converter near engine (2).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Gasoline particulate filter or catalytic converter near engine to the bottom of the transmission, tightening torque
M8x20 screw	Tightening torque	19 Nm

Install heat shield (2).

Tighten the nuts (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Retaining plates for vehicle underbody cover
Sheet metal nut/plastic nut Replace nuts.	tightening torque	3 Nm

Insert underbody protection (1) and position correctly.

Tighten screws (arrows).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Undershield/frame
Hexagon screw	tightening torque	3 Nm

Feed in the thrust field (4) in the area (5) of the wheel arch trim panel and position it on the front subframe.
Replace the bolts (arrows).

Tighten screws (arrows).

Thrust field to front axle support
M10 Replace screws.	Joining torque	56 Nm
	Angle of rotation	90°

Tighten down screws (3).

Cover, steering unit
Thermoplastic hexagon screw	Tightening torque	2.6 Nm

Tighten down screws (2).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Wheel arch cover
Thermoplastic hexagon screw	Tightening torque	2.6 Nm
Plastic nut	Tightening torque	2.6 Nm

Tighten down screws (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Undershield/frame
Hexagon screw	tightening torque	3 Nm
