Putting the engine into the installation position
Preliminary work

Prepared engine bridge
CAUTION:
Components connected to the engine joint or cross member.

- Check lifting eyes and engine mounting brackets for damage, e.g. cracks.
- Attach the component to correctly mounted engine joints or cross members only.
- Only lift component, do not move it longitudinally or transversely.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Unlock the lock (1).
- Feed out the tank ventilation line (2) from the clamp (3) and set aside.
- Carefully
position engine bridge (1) with help from an auxiliary person.
- Make sure that the special tool 0 496 430 (00 6 050) on the left lies correctly on the cross connection .
- Make sure that the special tool 0 496 685 (00 6 070) on the left is correctly positioned on the front
end.
- Make sure that the special tool 0 496 430 (00 6 050) on the right lies correctly on the cross connection.
- Make sure that the special tool 0 496 685 (00 6 070) on the right is correctly positioned on the front end
.
- Align engine bridge by moving it on the profile strips of the special tools above the engine suspension lugs and screw it down.
- Connect special tool 0490 567 (11 0 020)
° over the engine suspension lugs (1)°.
- Check whether the special tool 0 496 430 (00 6 050) on the right is correctly positioned on the
cross connection (1).
- Check whether the special tool 0 496 685 (00 6 070) on the right is positioned correctly on the front
end (1).
- Check whether the special tool 0 496 430 (00 6 050) on the left is correctly positioned on the
cross connection (1).
- Check whether the special tool 0 496 685 (00 6 070) on the left is positioned correctly on the front
end (1).
- Release the screw (1) of the right engine mount from the top with a standard tool.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Remove the left reinforcement strut (2).
- Prepare special tool 0 493 751 (11 9150)
as shown.
- Release the screw on the left engine mount from the bottom with special tool 0 493 751 (119150).
- Raise the engine by turning the special tool 2 361 506 (00 6 103)(spindle) by 10 mm
.
