Install oil pump

• Remove the control line (1).

• Replace the O-rings (1).

• Coat the O-rings (1) with motor oil.

• Install the control line (1).

• Install oil pump (3).
• Tighten the existing screw (1).

• Tighten the existing nuts (2).

• Position the sprocket wheel.

  If necessary, the engine at the central bolt must be turned clockwise to ensure accessibility to the screws (1). 

• Tighten down screws (1).

Camshaft sprocket
M6x18 screw	tightening torque	10 Nm

• Install the sprocket wheel (2).
• Position bracket (A) from the set of special tools 2 413 036 on the upper oil sump section. 
• Tighten the bracket (A) from the set of special tools 2 413 036 with the included screws (1) on the upper  oil sump section hand-tight.

• When feeding in the drag pointer 2 413 036  , make sure the U-profile (1) on the tip of the drag pointer touches at left and right on the drive chain of the oil pump (2).

• Tighten the drag pointer (A) from the set of special tools 2 413 036  with the included screws (1) on the bracket hand-tight.

  Determining the chain play of the oil pump drive 

• Press the drag pointer of the special tool 2 413 036 on the timing chain of the oil pump in the  direction of the arrow to the stop.
• Record the determined value.

  Determining the chain slack of the oil pump drive 

• Press the drag pointer of the special tool 2 413 036 on the timing chain to the stop in the  direction of the arrow.

Check 

• Press the drag pointer of the special tool 2 413 036  as far as it will go in both directions; determine the drive chain play (1). Add the values that you made a note of.

» Drive chain play in nominal range.

• Continue work with the next step.

• Replace the screw (1).
