After a brake pad exchange and before pressing the brake pedal: Always apply the electromechanical parking brake.
If this is not observed, a CC message appears and the brake system switches to the emergency program. The brake booster is no longer active.

When the engine is stopped after the completion of trip, it may be necessary to run the electric fan. In rare cases, operation of the electric fan can take up to 11 minutes. This protects the components. In this case, replacing the electric fan is not necessary.

- Unlock the locks (1)

- Feed out and remove the cover (1)
in arrow direction from the holder (2)
of DME control unit cylinders 1 to 4.
- Detach all cables (1)
from the DME control unit holder.
- Remove the connector (1) from the DME control unit of cylinders 5 to 8.
- Unlock the connector (2) from the power distribution module and disconnect it.
- Unlock and disconnect connector (3) .
- Unlock and disconnect connector (4)

- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the internal engine pressure sensor (1) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the rail pressure sensor (2)
.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the high pressure pump (1) .
- Unclip wiring harness mounting (2) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the exhaust camshaft sensor (3) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the intake camshaft sensor (4)
.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the electrical changeover valve of the cylinder bank (1) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the electrical changeover valve of the cylinder bank (2) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the oxygen sensor before catalytic converter of the cylinder bank (1) .
- Unclip the wiring harness (4)
of the integrated power supply module (PDM) from the attachment.
- Loosen screws (1)
.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the oxygen sensor before catalytic converter of the cylinder bank (1) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the tank vent valve (2) .
- Release the wiring harness mounting (3) .
- Release the wiring harness mounting (4) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the auxiliary water pump (5)
.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) at the auxiliary coolant pump.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (2) at the throttle valve of cylinders 1 to 4.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (3) at the boost pressure sensor.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (4) on the VANOS solenoid valve of the intake side.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (5) on the VANOS solenoid valve of the exhaust side.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (6) at the coolant thermostat.
- Unlock plug connection (7) and disconnect.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (8)
at the coolant temperature sensor.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) from the exhaust turbocharger.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (2) on the alternator
- Release, thread out and remove the wiring harness section for the sensor system of cylinders 1 to 4 from the clamps.
- Loosen screws (3) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) from the knock sensors of the cylinders 1 to 4.
- Release the wiring harness mounting (2)

- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (2) at the solenoid valve.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (4) at the oil pressure sensor.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (3) at the oil-level sensor.
- Release the wiring harness mounting (5) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1)
at the crankshaft sensor.
- Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect.
- Release the wiring harness mounting (2) .
- Feed out and remove the wiring harness section for the sensor system of cylinders 1 to 4.
