Installing the support for the instrument panel

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Conduct the following operation with the assistance of a second person.

Insert support (1) for the instrument panel in the vehicle.
Guide in support (1) for the instrument panel, while connecting and locking any connectors.

NOTE: When guiding in the support for the instrument panel, ensure that the steering shaft guides in correctly on the steering column.

Securing the steering shaft, bottom, to the steering column

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The steering shaft and the steering column are not encoded to each other. At the time of removal, installation and replacement, mark the positioning of the steering shaft in relation to the steering column. Non-compliance will lead to inclination of the steering wheel.

Align the bottom steering shaft (2) to the steering column using the mark (3) that was made during the removal.
Slide the bottom steering shaft (2) onto the steering column.
Replace the clamping bolt (1).
Parts: Clamping bolt

Tighten the clamping bolt (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Lower steering shaft to steering column
M8 Recut screw thread. Replace clamping bolt. No retorque permitted!	tightening torque	28 Nm

Tighten nuts (1).

Tighten the nuts (1) and bolts (2).

NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.

Install the Headunit High (HU-H) and tighten screw (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Head unit on support
screw	Tightening torque	2.3 Nm

Install the angle bracket and tighten nuts (3) and (4).

Establish a ground connection and tighten nut (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Ground cable to body
Hexagon nut	Tightening torque	8.0 Nm

Connect the connector (2) to the Head Unit High (HU-H) and lock.

Install the nuts (2) and (3) and tighten.

Connect connectors (1) and lock.
Connect the connector (1) in the right footwell and lock.

Attach the connector (1) to the temperature sensor and lock it.

Tighten down screw (1).
