Remove Left Engine Compartment Lid Hinge

WARNING: Working on 12 V electrical system.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!

Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
Detach battery ground lead from battery.
For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

Preliminary work

Refer to 6100... NOTES FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING THE VEHICLE BATTERY (ALL X5 MODELS, 2019-2022) .
Refer to REMOVING THE JET CHAIN PARTIALLY .
Refer to REMOVE HOOD .
Refer to REMOVE THE COVER OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AT THE REAR LEFT .
Refer to REMOVE ACTUATOR ON THE HOOD HINGE .

Open the lock (1) at top and detach the gas pressure spring (2).

Unclip the cable clip (1).
Release screws (2) and take off hood hinge (3).
