Remove the transmission wiring harness

WARNING: Hot surfaces.
Risk of burning!

Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.

Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
Refer to REMOVING THE TOP LEFT COVER IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT and REMOVE THE TOP RIGHT COVER IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT .

Unlock plug connection (2) and disconnect.
Release the wiring harness mountings (1).

Press the unfiltered-air duct (1) to the side.

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Release the wiring harness mountings (2).

Release the transmission wiring harness from the clamps (1).

Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect.
Release the wiring harness mounting (2).

If installed:
Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Unclip the connector (1) from the holder for intake silencer.

Release the transmission wiring harness from the clamps (2).
Disconnect the transmission wiring harness from the wiring harness for the ignition system of cylinder bank 1 in the area (1).

Remove transmission cross-member
Support the transmission using special tools 0 495 498 (23 4 050) and 2 219 012.
Secure the transmission with the luggage strap (1).

Release clamps (1).
Hang line on one side.

Loosen screw (1) and remove.
Loosen screws (2).
Remove the transmission cross member (3).

Disconnect cable tie (1).
Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.
Disengage latch mechanisms of the transmission wiring harness (2).

Loosen screw (2).
