Remove the tailgate button
Preliminary work
- Remove the power TAILGATE SWITCH .
- Remove the trunk lid LIGHT .
- Remove both trunk lid COVERS .
- Remove the top rear window frame TRIM .
- Remove both side rear window frame TRIM PIECES .
- Remove tailgate TRIM PANEL .
- Remove the trunk lid VIBRATION ABSORBER .

Careless handling of tools and sharp-edged components.
Scratches, surface damage.

- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.
- Mount special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325) as illustrated.
- Destroy the detents (1) of the tailgate button (2) by carefully hitting it with the special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325) .
- Release detents (3) from the inside and unclip the tailgate buttons (2) downwards.
- Disconnect the connector (1) and remove the tailgate buttons (2).
- If necessary, remove the broken parts of the tailgate buttons (2) from the tailgate.
