Preliminary work
- Remove the interior rearview mirror COVERS .
- Remove the interior REARVIEW MIRROR .
- Remove the left hands-free MICROPHONE .
- Remove the roof FUNCTION CENTER (FZD).
- Remove SUN VISOR .
- Remove the sun visor counter SUPPORT .
- Remove the front left or right vanity MIRROR LIGHT .
- Remove a-pillar TRIM PANEL .
- Remove the left or right HOLDER .
- Remove the b-pillar TRIM PANEL upwards.
- Remove rear interior roof LIGHT .
- Remove c-pillar TRIM PANEL .
- Remove the d-pillar TRIM PANEL .
- Lower the left or right HEADLINING .
CAUTION:
Shutting hood or trunk lid.
Injury hazard!

- Support hood/trunk lid in fully open position with the aid of a suitable device.
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
- Push on clamp in direction of groove with a screwdriver.
- Lift off ball socket from ball hub.
- Push back the clamp.
- Detach the gas spring (1).
