- Do not pull on the electrical wastegate valve controller or on the coupling rod.
- Apply force only at the turbine housing and exhaust manifold.
- Do not pull on the compressor housing.

When replacing the stud bolts, they must be coated with screw locking agent (Loctite 270).

» Loose stud bolt (1) .
Measure
- Replace the stud bolt (1) .
- Check the cylindrical pin in the marked area for damage, replace if necessary.NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE

The use of metal-cutting tools (e.g., emery cloths) for cleaning surfaces can damage them and lead to leaks and/or engine damage .- Do not use any metal-cutting tools.
- Clean the sealing surfaces (1)
on the cylinder head using special tool 0 495 102 (11 4 470)

- Guide in and install the seal (1) .
- Make sure that the seal (1) is correctly
installed in the cylindrical pins in the marked
area.CAUTION: Heavy component .
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage .- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Guide the exhaust turbocharger (1)
into the trim strip (2)
and install it.
Protect the exhaust turbocharger (1) from falling.
NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Note the installation position of the component. The component can be installed in various installation positions. - Feed in and install the shifting strip (A) .
- The original BMW part number of the sliding rail (A)
must be legible

Failure to comply with the regulations can lead to leaks and damage. - Replace nuts (1)
to (4)

.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Exhaust turbocharger to cylinder head M7 Observe tightening sequence!
Replace nuts.1. Joining torque 10 Nm 2. tightening torque 10 Nm 3. Joining torque 16 Nm 4. tightening torque 16 Nm 5. Tightening torque 16 Nm - Insert and install the oil feed line (2) for the cylinders to 6.
- Tighten down screw (1)
.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Oil feed line for exhaust turbocharger to crankcase M6x12 Replace sealing ring. tightening torque 8 Nm - Insert and install the heat shield (2) .
- Tighten screws (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Heat shield to cylinder head M8X17.5 Replace screws. tightening torque 10 Nm - Check seal (1)
for damage, replace if necessary.
- Detach locks (1)
from the holders in the arrow direction.
- Insert and install the charge air pipe (4)
for the cylinders 4 to 6.
The lock (2) must engage audibly.
- Tighten down screw (1)
.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Charge air pipe for cylinders 4 to 6 on holder M6x25 tightening torque 8 Nm - Insert and install the charge air duct (3)
for the cylinders 4 to 6.
The charge air duct (3) must engage audibly.
