Check fuel delivery pressure

Preliminary work

WARNING: Working on fuel system .
Risk of fire! Danger of explosion!

When working on the fuel system, make sure the workstation has sufficient ventilation, e.g., by means of extraction.
Tightly seal off open lines and connections; collect any leakage fuel directly at the point of exit.
No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

CAUTION: On releasing high pressure line, fuel may emerge at high speed .
Injury hazard!

Wear suitable personal protective equipment.
Before performing any installation work, allow cooling system to cool down to less than 40°C.
Note warnings on cylinder head cover.

Collect and dispose of emerging fluids. Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

Check

Insert special tool 0 491 310 (13 5 270) into disconnected fuel line.
Screw onto special tool 0 491 310 (13 5 270) , the special tool 0 496 623 (11 4 310) .
Screw 0 496 623 (11 4 310) the IMIB 100 bar pressure sensor (1) onto the special tool.
Connect the IMIB 100 bar pressure sensor (1) to the Integrated Measurement Interface Box (IMIB).
Establish fuel delivery pressure.

Result

» Read the fuel delivery pressure on the Integrated Measurement Interface Box (IMIB) and compare it with the values in the diagnostic system.

Measure

Follow the instructions of the diagnostic system.
After completion of the measurement: Disconnect and remove the special tool 0 491 310 (13 5 270) with the special tool 0 496 623 (11 4 310) and the IMIB 100 bar pressure sensor (1) from the fuel supply line.
Catch and dispose of leakage fuel in a suitable container.

Connect and lock fuel delivery line (1).
Make sure that the fuel feed line (1) engages audibly.
