64 53 551 Removing and installing/replacing capacitor (with desiccant insert) for heating and air conditioning system

Restart engine only when air conditioning has been correctly filled.

NOTE:
Desiccant insert cannot be replaced separately.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Draw off the AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
- Remove RADIATOR AIR DUCT
Removal:
Release screws (1).
Release screws (1).
Remove refrigerant lines (2).
Detach the retaining strap (1).
Loosen the hose support (2).
Unlock left and right latch mechanism (1).
Remove the condenser (2) from the mounting on the left and right.
In doing so, press radiator slightly forwards from rear.
Installation:
Correctly insert the condenser (2) into the mounting on the left and right.
In doing so, press radiator slightly forwards from rear.
The latch mechanism (1) on the left and right must lock correctly.
Attach the retaining strap (1).
Engage the hose support (2).
Position refrigerant line (2).
Tighten screws (1).
Tightening torque 64 53 3AZ .
NOTE:
The fins on the radiator and condenser should not be damaged.
Replace sealing rings.
Use special tool 00 9 030 to mount sealing rings without damaging them.
Replace sealing rings.

Tighten screws (1).
Required follow-up work:
- Evacuate and fill the AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
- Install RADIATOR AIR DUCT
