51 41 000 Removing and installing (replacing) front left or right door trim panel

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove SWITCH FOR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR

Removal:

Lever out and remove the trim (1) from the clamps (3) towards the inside through the recess (2) using a small screwdriver.

Release screws (1).

Unclip door trim panel at clips (1) using special tool 00 9 325 (starting in area of A-pillar).

Unclip door trim panel at top from clips (2).

Disengage Bowden cable (1) from door lock (2).

Disconnect all plug connections and remove door trim panel.

Installation:

Hold door trim panel in position and connect all plug connections.

Attach Bowden cable (1) to door lock (2).

NOTE: Replace faulty clips (1).
Fit all clips with sealing ring.

Clip door trim panel at top into clamps (2).

Clip door trim panel into clips (1).

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 41 1AZ .

NOTE: Check the clamps (3), they must not be damaged or missing.

Install the trim (1) and engage with the clamps (3).

NOTE: After assembling the door trim panel proceed as follows:

Open side window
Lock with ignition key
Check for ease of movement on locking button linkage
If necessary, align linkage
