51 16 160 Removing and installing (replacing) center console trim

Special tools required:

00 9 325

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove GEARSHIFT LEVER COVER
Remove SIDE CLIP ON CENTER CONSOLE

Removal:

Release screw (1).

Lever out trim (2) from clamps (3) using special tool 00 9 325 .

Lift trim (2) upwards.

NOTE: Do not disconnect plug connection.

Release screws (1).

Remove switch for electromechanical parking brake (2) from trim (3) and put down.

Disconnect associated plug connections and remove trim (3).

Installation:

Install trim (3) and connect the corresponding plug connections.

Install switch for electromechanical parking brake (2).

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 61 31 4AZ .

Engage trim (2) in clamps (3).

Tighten screw (1).

Tightening torque 51 16 7AZ .

Required follow-up work:

Install the GEARSHIFT LEVER COVER
Install the SIDE CLIP ON CENTER CONSOLE
