34 52 250 Removing and installing/replacing optional equipment system (SAS) control unit

NOTE: The optional equipment system (SAS) is a control unit in which the functions of the suspension control systems and the assistance systems are integrated.

CAUTION: Read and comply with NOTES ON PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary work:

Clamp off BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
Remove the RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH PANEL .

Removal:

Unlock and disconnect plugs (1).

Loosen screws (2).

Remove SAS control unit (3).

Installation:

Position SAS control unit (3).

Insert nuts (2) and tighten.

Tightening torque, refer to: 34 51 6AZ .

Connect plug connection (1).

Required follow-up work:

Connect the BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
Install the LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH PANEL AT RIGHT .
Replacement only: Carry out PROGRAMMING/ENCODING .
