34 35 003 Replacing one brake pad wear sensor (rear)
Attention!
The brake pad wear sensor must be replaced without fail after disassembly (the brake pad wear sensor loses its adhesive capability in the brake pad).
Observe the following if a brake pad wear sensor that has already been sanded has to be replaced even though the minimum brake pad thickness has not yet been reached: The new sliding contact must be filed down with a file to the same length as the sanded sliding contact.
Carry out a CBS reset after having replaced the brake pad wear sensor.
If a brake pad wear sensor was replaced without replacing the brake pads, you must observe the following:
- Carry out service function "CBS correction reset" via diagnosis system and information system.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove the WHEEL at the rear right.
- Partially detach REAR WHEEL ARCH PANEL.
Removal:
Pull off the brake pad wear sensor (1) from the brake pad in the direction of the arrow.
Detach the cable of the brake pad wear sensor from the bracket (2).
Detach the brake pad wear sensor from the brackets (2).
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Installation:
Install the brake pad wear sensor (1) in the brake pad in the direction of the arrow.
Attention!
Make sure the clamp (1) and brake pad wear sensor are correctly positioned in the brake pad.
Attach the brake pad wear sensor in the brackets (2).
Attach the brake pad wear sensor in the brackets (2).
Connect plug connection (1).
Required reworking:
- Mount the REAR WHEEL ARCH PANEL. .
- Mount the rear right WHEEL .
- Reset CBS.
