11 61 365 Removing and installing/replacing left-hand charge air duct

Attention!

In the event of a leak on the charge air duct, there is a risk of damage to the exhaust turbocharger!

Necessary preliminary work:

REMOVAL:

NOTE: Locks (1) must engage in brackets (see arrow).

Unlock lock (1) on both sides with suitable tool.

Pull off charge air duct (2) from charge air cooler.

Unlock lock (1) on both sides with suitable tool.

Pull off charge air duct (2) from throttle valve.

Turn charge air duct (1) and remove upwards.

Preparation for installation:

Attention!

In the event of a leak on the charge air duct, there is a risk of damage to the exhaust turbocharger!

Check sealing lip (1) for damage.

NOTE: If sealing lip (1) is damaged, the gasket must be replaced.

Installation note:

Check the seal (1) has been installed correctly:

The seal (1) indicates correct installation in the pressure pipe.

INSTALLATION:

Release locks (1) from brackets.

Turn charge air duct (1) and feed in downwards.

Connect charge air duct (1) to throttle valve until lock (2) engages on both sides.
