62 30 010 Removing and installing/replacing head-up display

Attention!

Observe the information on protection from ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE .

Attention!

Observe and comply with NOTES ON HANDLING OPTICAL FIBERS

Risk of damage!

Do not hold the Head-Up Display by the heat sink.

If possible, do not touch the sound insulation on the Head-Up Display.

Do not touch the glass pane of the Head-Up Display if possible.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove the INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM

Removal:

Release screws (1).

Carefully feed out Head-Up Display (2) from support (3) towards top.

Unlock connector (1) on underside of head-up display (2) and disconnect.

Remove head-up display (2).

Installation:

Connect connector (1) on underside of head-up display (2).

NOTE: Make sure mounting orientation of Head-Up Display (2) relative to support (3) is correct.
Decoupling elements on Head-Up Display (2) may not be missing.

Join Head-Up Display (2) to support (3).

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque, refer to: 62 30 1AZ .

Required follow-up work:

Install the INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM

Replacement:

Carry out VEHICLE PROGRAMMING/ENCODING .
