Preliminary work

Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .

Removing ignition coil of cylinder bank 2

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the ignition coil .
The silicone hose of the ignition coil must not be contaminated by fuel as this can lead to failure of the ignition coil .

When working on the fuel system, cover the ignition coils with suitable materials and remove where required.
Do not oil or grease the silicone tube of the spark plug socket. Do not use any protection or maintenance products (e.g. silicone spray, rubber care products, rust remover, etc.).

NOTE: The description is provided only at one component. The procedure is the same for all other components.

NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.

Unlock and disconnect the connectors (2) from the injectors with a small slotted screwdriver (1).
Unlock the lock in the direction of the arrow with a small slotted screwdriver (1). Disconnect the connector (2) on the connector housing from the injector.

Unlock the connectors (arrows) and disconnect.
Loosen nut (1).
Loosen screw (2).
Remove the cable clip (3) and put to one side.

For equipment specification with RDE2:

Slowly pull the ignition coils (2) up and take them out without jerking them.

Pulling out the ignition coil with jerks may cause silicone hose to tear.

After removing the ignition coils: Fuse off the silicone hose (1) of the ignition coils with an air gun (2).
The ignition coils must be free from oil, fuel residue, and coolant residue.

Release the nuts in area (1).
Feed out the ground cable (2) and remove.
Thread out wiring harness section for the ignition system of cylinder bank (1) and remove.
