Preliminary work
- Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER PANEL OF THE MASTER DME CONTROL UNIT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER PANEL OF THE SLAVE DME CONTROL DEVICE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE ACOUSTIC COVER .
- Refer to REMOVING THE CONTROL UNIT BRACKET FOR CYLINDERS 1 TO 4 .
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ON THE LEFT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ON THE RIGHT .
- Refer to RELEASING THE RIGHT FRONT-END STRUT .

- Refer to LOOSENING WIRING HARNESS FROM CYLINDER BANK 1 .
- Release the cover (1) at the detents (2).
- Remove the cover (1) in an upwards direction.
- Unfasten nut (1).
- Feed out the positive battery cable (2) from the stud bolt on the remote positive terminal.
- Disengage the positive battery cable on the holders (1).
- Remove the cover of the positive battery cable (1) in an upwards direction.
- Unfasten nut (1).
- Feed out the positive battery cable (2) from the stud bolt on the alternator.
- Disengage the positive battery cable (2) on the detents (1).
- Feed out the positive battery cable (2).
