Replace Trunk Lid

Precondition 

New part is painted.

• Remove the buzzer (1) and unlock and disconnect the corresponding plug connection.
• Release the wiring harness (2) at the attachment points (arrows).

• Release rubber grommet (1).
• Release the wiring harness (2) at the attachment points (arrows) and feed out of tailgate.

• Release rubber grommet (1).
• Release the wiring harness (2) at the attachment points (arrows).

  • Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
  • Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.

• Remove screws (1) on both sides of vehicle.
• Remove trunk lid.
• Renew the tailgate.

  Parts:  Tailgate

• Position the tailgate on the tailgate hinges.
• Tighten screws (1) on both sides of vehicle.
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Trunk lid to the hinge
  Hexagon screw M10	Tightening torque	56 Nm

• Carefully close the trunk lid and check for contact with the body.
• If necessary, position the tailgate again.

• Thread the wiring harness (2) into the tailgate and secure it to the attachment points (arrows).
• Install rubber grommet (1). While doing this, ensure correct installation (watertightness).

• Attach the wiring harness (2) at the attachment points (arrows).

• Thread the wiring harness (2) into the tailgate and secure it to the attachment points (arrows).
• Install rubber grommet (1). While doing this, ensure correct installation (watertightness).

• Attach the wiring harness (2) at the attachment points (arrows).
• Connect and lock the connector for the buzzer (1).
• Install the buzzer (1).

• Release the screws (1) and remount the angle bracket (2) on the tailgate.
• Tighten the screws (1).

• Tighten the screws (1).
