Removing and installing or replacing trim panel on left or right door post (top) (2016-2022)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

On version with coat hook :

Press cover (1) in top area inwards and lever out.

Release screw underneath.

Remove coat hook (2).

NOTE: Seat belt strap only has to be detached for complete removal or replacement.

Lever out sealing cap (1).

Release screw (2) and pull off seat belt strap.

Tightening torque 72 11 2AZ .

Installation note:

Make sure position of encoding (3) is correct.

Replace protective cap (1) after each disassembly operation.

Detach edge protection (1) in area of trim panel (3).

Release trim panel (3) from clips (2).

Feed out trim panel (3) from door post in direction of arrow.

Unlock plug connection and disconnect according to the version.

Feed out seat belt strap (4) and remove from trim panel (3).

Installation note:

Replace faulty clips (2).

Installation note:

Insert trim panel (1) with guide lugs (2) in corresponding openings (3) in roof pillar (4).

Slide trim panel (1) upwards until guides (2) fit correctly.
