Camshafts -- Repair (G14, G15, & G16) (2 Of 4)

• 11 31 Camshafts
  • 11 31 038 Remove and install/replace the right exhaust camshaft (M850i xDrive coupe)
    • Removing the exhaust camshaft of cylinder bank 1
    • Install exhaust camshaft of the bank 1
  • 11 31 052 Replacing both timing chains (M850i xDrive coupe/convertible/Gran Coupe xDrive sedan)
    • Removing both timing chains and installing or replacing them
  • 11 31 070 Check camshaft timing on left side (M850i xDrive coupe)
    • Check the VANOS adjuster of cylinder bank 2
    • Check timing of cylinder bank 2
    • Remove the special tools to disconnect the crankshaft
  • 11 31 071 Check camshaft timing on right side (M850i xDrive coupe)
    • Checking the VANOS adjuster of cylinder bank 1
    • Check the timing of cylinder bank 1
    • Remove the special tools to disconnect the crankshaft
  • 11 31 094 Removing and installing/replacing the left hydraulic chain tensioner (M850i xDrive coupe/convertible/Gran Coupe xDrive sedan)
    • Slackening the chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
    • Slackening the hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
    • Removing hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
    • Installing the hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
  • 11 31 095 Removing and installing/replacing the hydraulic chain tensioner on the right (M850i xDrive coupe/convertible/Gran Coupe xDrive sedan)
    • Slackening the chain tensioner of cylinder bank 1
    • Slackening the hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 1
    • Removing hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 1
    • Installing the hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 1
  • 11 31 573 Adjusting camshaft timing on left side (M850i xDrive coupe/convertible/Gran Coupe xDrive sedan)
    • Adjusting cylinder bank 2 timings
  • 11 31 574 Adjusting camshaft timing on right side (M850i xDrive coupe/convertible/Gran Coupe xDrive sedan)
    • Adjusting the valve timing of cylinder bank 1
  • 11 31 013 Replacing both camshafts, left (M850i xDrive convertible)
    • Removing the exhaust camshaft of cylinder bank 2
    • Removing the intake camshaft of cylinder bank 2
    • Installing intake camshaft of cylinder bank 2
    • Installing cylinder bank 2 exhaust camshaft
  • 11 31 017 Replacing both right camshafts (M850i xDrive convertible)
    • Removing the exhaust camshaft of cylinder bank 1
    • Removing the intake camshaft of cylinder bank 1
    • Install intake camshaft of bank 1
    • Install exhaust camshaft of the bank 1
  • 11 31 032 Remove and install/replace the left intake camshaft (M850i xDrive convertible)
    • Removing the intake camshaft of cylinder bank 2
    • Installing intake camshaft of cylinder bank 2
