Removing the convertible top latch

• Battery charger connected.
  CAUTION: Folding up of convertible top through loss of pressure in hydraulic cylinders  .
  Injury hazard! Injury hazard by trapping! 

  • When carrying out all repair work, secure soft top and soft top compartment lid with a suitable support tool against collapsing. Ensure soft top is supported in the middle.
  NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVING WINDSHIELD PANEL TRIM .

• Release the blind rivet (1).
• Remove the hall-effect sensor (2) and feed it out.
• Open retaining clips (3) and unclip the spherical head (4).

• Mark the position of the convertible top latch (3) at areas (1).
• Loosen nuts (2).
• Remove the convertible top latch (3).
