Removing the backrest covering
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR COVERING .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR SEAT BENCH .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR SEAT BACKREST .
- Unclip the welt of the backrest cover with the special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325) in the marked area.
- Remove rear panel (1).
- Carefully put the backrest cover (1) over the attachment points of the backrest frame (2).
- Disconnect the backrest cover (1) from the backrest frame (3) and unlock and disconnect the plug connections as needed.
- Loosen all clamps on the trim wires.
- Remove the backrest cover from the upholstery.
- Completely remove the clamps from the backrest cover and the cushion.
