Installing the catalytic converter for cylinders 7 to 12

• Replace seal (1)  on catalytic converter.

• Screw in catalytic converter for cylinders 7 to 12 in the arrow direction and move it into the installation position for the monitoring oxygen sensor.

  NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION 
  Grease the threads of new oxygen sensors thinly and evenly.
  For oxygen sensors that are reused, the following should be observed:
  Thinly and evenly grease the oxygen sensor on the thread only. Do not clean the part of the oxygen sensor that does not protrude into the exhaust line (sensor ceramics) and do not grease.

• Thinly and evenly grease the thread (1)  .

• Do not grease the sensor ceramics (2)  .
  NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE 
  Careless handling of tools and sharp-edged components.
  Scratches, surface damage.

  • Protect working area.
  • Handle tools and components carefully.

• Screw the oxygen sensor monitor (3)  in.
• Tighten the oxygen sensor monitor (3)  .
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  Oxygen sensor monitor on catalytic converter
  M18X1.5	Tightening torque	50 Nm

• Push catalytic converter (2)  upwards and position on exhaust turbocharger.
• Remove protection (1)  against scratches.
• If necessary, replace clamp (1)  .

• Feed in catalytic converter and secure with the clamp (1).
• Tighten clamp (1)  .

  Catalytic converter to exhaust turbocharger
  cl Replace clamp after disassembly.	Tightening torque	14 Nm

• For vehicles without a gasoline particulate filter 

  Replace screws (1)  .

• Tighten bolts (1)  of catalytic converter.

  M8 Replace screws.	Tightening torque	28 Nm

• For vehicles with a gasoline particulate filter 

  Mount the catalytic converter on the holder.

• Replace screws (1)  .

• Tighten bolts (1)  of catalytic converter.

  Catalytic converter to holder
  M8 Replace screws.	Tightening torque	28 Nm

• Click the line (2)  to the differential pressure sensor into the mount of the catalytic converter.

• For vehicles with a gasoline particulate filter 

  Connect the line to the differential pressure sensor to the catalytic converter and tighten the union nut (1)  .
