- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

Engine wiring harness for sensor system 2
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.
Sheared wires can cause a short circuit.
Damage to wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.

- Do not pull on wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.
- Unlock and loosen clamp (1) .
- Guide and remove cover (2)
in arrow direction.
- Loosen screw (1) .
- Unlock lock (2) .
- Unlock and loosen holder (3) .
- Unlock and loosen connector (4) .
- Unlock and loosen all connectors (5)
in the direction of the arrow.
- Unlock the locks (arrows).
- Feed out cable duct (1)
and set it aside.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the temperature sensor at the cylinder head.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the hot film air mass meter.
- Unlock the connector of the intake camshaft sensor and release.
- Unlock the connector of the exhaust camshaft sensor and release.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the rail pressure sensor.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the high pressure pump.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the heating element of the crankcase ventilation system.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the electric coolant pump.
- Unlock connector of Lambda oxygen sensor and release.
- Unlock the connector of the monitoring oxygen sensor and release.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the turbocharger.
- Unlock and disconnect the connector from both solenoid valves of the camshaft adjustment.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the tank vent valve.
- Unlock and detach all clamps.
- Guide out engine wiring harness for sensor system 2 (1) and remove it.
