Remove injectors
Precondition
- Ignition is switched off.

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

- When working on the fuel system, make sure the workstation has sufficient ventilation, e.g., by means of extraction.
- Tightly seal off open lines and connections; collect any leakage fuel directly at the point of exit.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

- Twist the injectors with a torsional movement of maximum 13 Nm.

- Loosen screw (1).
- Remove hold-down device (2).
- Pull injectors upward out of cylinder head and remove.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
lf multiple injectors are removed, it must be ensured that each injector is reinstalled at its original installation location (cylinder). Mark injectors. - Mark injectors.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
To prevent that the maximum tensile force 2000 N exceeded when the secured injectors are pulled out: Use special tool 2 480! Using a correctly adjusted torque wrench and special tool 2 447 480 guarantees that the maximum tensile force 2000 N is not exceeded at the injectors.
The injector must be replaced if the torque wrench clicks when the injector is pulled out. - Unscrew the pull-out thread (1) from special tool 0 496 885 (13 0 320). NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The extraction thread is a left-hand thread. - Screw in the pull-out thread (1) from special tool 0 496 885 (13 0 320) into special tool 2 447 480.
- Before using special tool 2 447 480 lightly oil the pullout thread (1) and fully unscrew them.
- Select the threaded sleeves (2) according to the installed injectors.NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- Loosen the screw (1) of the cylinder head cover.
- Select the threaded sleeves and the hole for the screw (1)-
- Position special tool 2 447 480 on the injector shaft with the matching threaded sleeves.
- Screw in the screws (1) and (2) on the injector shaft by a few turns.
- Screw in the pull-out thread (3) until it is possible to screw on the threaded sleeves (4) onto the injectors.
- Screw on and tighten the threaded sleeves (4) on the injectors.
- Tighten down screws (2) and (3).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Special tool 2 447 480 to cylinder head M6 Tightening torque 8 Nm - Adjust the torque wrench (1) to 13 Nm in a clockwise rotation.
- Position the torque wrench (1) on the hexagon head (2) of special tool 2 447 480. NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION

- Disassemble special tool 2 447 480 and remove the injector.
