Installing the rear shock absorber
- Check the centering plate (1) for damage, replace if necessary.
- Check the position of centering plate (1) and, if necessary, correct it.
- Compress the shock absorber (1) and feed it into the wheel well.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Tighten the screw connection in the NORMAL POSITION . - Replace the nut (1) and the screw (2).
Parts: Nut, bolt
- Insert the screw (2).
- Tighten the nut (1) hand-tight.
The screw connection is tightened with the torque wrench later in the NORMAL POSITION .
WARNING: Car may slip off the vehicle hoist where components are supported .
Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!- Secure the vehicle hoist against lowering and lifting.
- Make sure that the vehicle does not lift off the mounting plates on the vehicle lift.
- Position special tool 2 219 012 with special tools 2 411 683 and 2 305 379 under wheel carrier (1) .
- Lift the wheel carrier slightly using special tool 2 219 012
. Position the shock absorber on the body in the
process.
Do not press against the spring force of the coil spring .
- Replace screws (1).

- Tighten down screws (1).

- Disconnect the special tool 2 219 012 and set it aside.
NOTE:
The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- Attach all the cables to holder (2).
- Connect connectors (1) and lock.
