11 28 010 Removing and installing/replacing alternator drive belt (230i and 230i xDrive coupe/convertible)

Special tools required: 

• 11 0 390 

Mark the direction of travel of the drive belt if it is to be reused.

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Refer to REMOVING ACOUSTIC COVER AT FRONT .

Removal: 

Raise the preloading on the belt tensioner (1) in the direction of the arrow.

Secure belt tensioner in place with special tool 11 0 390  .

Remove drive belt (1).

Installation: 

Observe course of the drive belt (1).

Position drive belt (1) on ancillary components.

Raise the preloading on the belt tensioner (1).

Remove special tool 11 0 390  from the belt tensioner (1).

Required follow-up work:

• Assemble engine
