Putting the engine into the installation position

Preliminary work

• Refer to REMOVING THE COVER OF THE REAR RIGHT ENGINE COMPARTMENT .
• Refer to REMOVING THE REAR HOOD SEAL .
• Refer to REMOVING LEFT AND RIGHT WIPER ARM .
• Refer to REMOVING WINDSHIELD PANEL COVER .
• Refer to REMOVING THE CENTER COWL UPPER PART .
• Refer to REMOVING THE TOP RIGHT AND LEFT COVER IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT .
• Refer to REMOVING FRONT RIGHT WHEEL .
• Refer to REMOVING THE REAR SECTION OF THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL ARCH COVER .
• Refer to REMOVING THE COVER OF THE STEERING ASSEMBLY .
• Refer to REMOVING THRUST FIELD .

• Refer to REMOVING THE INTAKE FILTER HOUSING ON THE LEFT .

• Position the special tool 0 496 437 (00 6 052) between the screws (1) on the connecting support.

• Ensure that brake line (1) is not damaged when positioning special tools 0 496 438 (00 6 053) between strut brace and tension strut.

  NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION 
  Conduct the following operation with the assistance of a second person.
• Carefully position engine bridge (1) with help from an assistant.
• Correctly position the special tools 0 496 437 (00 6 052) and 0 496 438 (00 6 053) on the left and right.

• Prepare special tool 0 490 567 (11 0 020) .

• If necessary, release nuts (1) and reposition engine bridge (2).

• By shifting it on the profile strips of the special tool 0 496 430 (00 6 050), align the engine bridge above the engine mounting brackets and screw in place.
• Connect the hooks with the engine mounting brackets.

• Release the screw (1) from the right wheel well.

• Loosen screw (1).
• Remove the right hand reinforcement strut (2).

• Release screw (1) of the right engine mount with standard tool.

• Release the screws (1) of the left engine mount from the bottom.

• Lift the engine by 10 mm by turning the spindle 2 361 506 (00 6 103).
