Removing right luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel

Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR COVERING .
- Refer to REMOVING EMERGENCY WHEEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE LOADING EDGE TRIM .
- Remove the cover (1).
- Loosen screw (2).
- Remove the lashing point (3).
Removing the emergency release handle for the tailgate (additional work for US version)
NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details. - Loosen the emergency release handle (1) for the tailgate from the holder.
- Detach the Bowden cable (2) and remove the emergency release handle (1) for the tailgate.
- Reposition right rear seat backrest.
- Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
If installed: Disconnect plug connection of the 12 V connection (additional work with storage package equipment specification)
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) of the 12V power socket.
- Press luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel lug (2) on the outer side of the hinge forwards over the stop on the trim (1).
- Feed out the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (2) under the sealing lip for the trunk lid and the side trim panel in the rear passenger compartment.
- Remove luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (2).
