Assessment Of Damage On The Body Rep-Alg-RAGRP41-4110001 - V.7
The body of I01 consists of the Drive module and Life module.
The Drive module consists of aluminum components.
The Life module primarily consists of components in carbon fiber reinforced plastics (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic).
Components in aluminum are damaged first when damages occur to the front part.
Components in Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic may be damaged when damages occur to the side parts or to the rear part.
Attention!
Observe SAFETY REGULATIONS for transporting and handling damaged electric vehicles!
Perform assessment of damage only after ENSURING ELECTRICAL INTRINSIC SAFETY .
Perform following steps to assess the damage:
- Remove any add-on parts in the area of damage.
- Check components.
- Check FIT
.
If one of the following criteria is met, the backrest frame must be renewed!
- Activated end fitting pretensioner
- Undipped outer cover
- Torn outer cover
- Faulty clip connection to outer cover
- Determine scope of repair work.
When damages are present on the outer side frame (1), minimum distances between the damage (2) and the separation point (3) must be observed.
Step 1:
There may be no visible damage within a distance a from the severance cut.
Dimension (A) = 200 mm.
Damage smaller than 2 mm in the area is permissible.
Step 2 (measurement of damage size):
Measure the spread of damage in all directions. Multiply the greatest dimension by 2.
If the distance a between the damage (2) and the separation point (3) is less than the calculated value, the next largest repair area must be replaced.
- Perform repair according to repair instructions.
If two or more repair areas have to be replaced at the same time, proceed in accordance with the procedure set out in the individual repair instructions. No severance cuts between the repair areas.
