Assessment of vehicle involved in an accident
- Mechanical assessment
Yes No Is smoke formation visible? Does the vehicle show any evidence of fire damage? Suspected water damage incl. extinguishing water (vehicle and high-voltage battery unit) Does the vehicle show any mechanical damage within the areas marked in red? (see figure above) Crack or opening on the housing of the high-voltage battery unit Dents in the housing, deformations, changes (scratches up to 0.5 mm in depth are permitted) to the high-voltage battery unit Connections of high-voltage battery unit loose or damaged High-voltage cables hang loosely out of the vehicle The electrical and visual assessment must be set down in writing!
If one or more points is/are answered with yes the following procedure must be clarified with technical support! Furthermore, the vehicle must be made inaccessible and blocked off by means of high-voltage barrier tape and parked at a suitable location for vehicles that have been involved in an accident.
If all points have been answered with no , the vehicle is in an inherently safe condition. In this case, the vehicle can be added to a usual workshop process for inherently safe vehicles.
